Scrapbook Convention

Well I had a lovely day with Paula yesterday. We arrived at 8 a.m ( traffic was good) and left after 5 p.m. ( had some traffic adventures on the way home, more later). Poor Tan and her friend got stuck in traffic so they were a wee bit late. As usual I caught up with lots of people and made new friends.

Here is some of the stash I bought home. I even came home with money in my purse. I love going around looking at new things and having Paula come up with some amazing ideas, pity I didn't have a dictaphone to record all her words of wisdom, because I'll never remember them all.

I made some purchases for Ruby Berry, which I can't wait to use, got lots of ideas rolling around in my head as we speak.

I wore my new boots, surprisingly they didn't hurt my feet at all. Loving them. At the end of the day, Paula and I spied Ngaire finishing up her class. We decided to go and look at the new inking on her tattoo which she blogs about. We had a lovely time chatting about all things crafty and peri-menepausal. She had the cutest little apron on with doilies, ribbon and scraps of gorgeous fabric and we discussed the depth of the pocket. Paula was wearing one of her creations so we had a chat about the one I'd like her to make me.

Tan and I had a lesson with Lynette Carroll, who is an Aussie who has lived in America for many years. We started making a birdcage album. What I like about her lessons is she teaches you different techniques and has everything cut ready for you to use. Still have a load more to do before that project gets finished! Maybe a job for Esk.

Made new friends with the owners of a new shop at Capalaba who do 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. crops, sounded like fun. Will try to organise one in the next month or two. They were crazy as cut snakes, right up my alley!

Paula and I defeated the universe, when we tricked it into believing I bought new Honey Bee scissors, which I have not been able to find for ages. When I was unpacking I found my scissors, yeahh!!!!!!!! Take that universe, gumby girl is taking over.

Other than using the men's toilets, when I was late for a class and driving into new roads to find they weren't open yet, that was it.

What a day! What a pity I couldn't go back and do it again.

By the way guess what Paula and I decided to get tattooed on our 50th birthdays...................

  1. President, BMC! Toni, found out that it is an old highschool cohort of mine Tracey who has just moved her Birkdale shop to Capalaba who you were chatting to about the 4pm-4am crop nights....small world! Thanks for your crazy company yesterday, glad you tricked the universe into finding your scissors - stop blaming your daughter now! Tan:)
