Sewing using recycled stuff

Had an urge to do some sewing today. So after rearranging the furniture back to its right place, I was off.
Years ago at Beachmere Paula used to wear these really comfy dresses that she made herself.  That is where I got my inspiration.

I took an old black shirt I don't use much and cut it off.  Then I got this fabric I bought at Spotlight about two years ago, sewed down one side and gathered the top.  After that I found this old ribbon, that just finished it off nicely.

Now my next dilemma, keep it long or cut it off short.  What do you think?

  1. Definately short, long dresses are for old people!

  2. I think it looks great both ways - why not keep it long for winter and wear it with a red jacket or cardy, then cut it off next summer?
