Handmade Christmas

Several years ago a group of very close friends started a new tradition for Christmas.
We always got together for a play before Christmas, then we decided to only give handmade gifts.
This occasion has turned into one of my very favourite times. I love seeing what everyone makes and it's lovely to know that someone has put in quality time and effort to make something beautiful.
This year I made for two boys.  One wanted some bunting for his room ( I've made bunting for both of his brothers over the years, so he was feeling left out!) I popped in some rumballs and coconut ice into his gift for a bit extra.

Inside the bag was lots of pockets, a notebook for field notes and sketches, a couple of specimen jars ( which were used quite quickly) and a pen. I wanted a magnifying glass as well, but couldn't find any in time.

My darling girlfriends were made a gorgeous Sprocket Pillow, in their favourite colours.

The beautiful covered buttons really make the pillows, don't you think?
I received some gorgeous gifts in return, but more about them another day.
